  • Will you be selling .STL files
No. At the 389 Project we are very serious about the quality of our product. Our Product Represents Us. With the wide array of printers, printer settings & types of printer resins & filaments we cannot guarantee or control quality. Sadly there are also many out in the world who would use & resell our products @ much Lower Resolutions & Qualities. Too many people out to just make a quick buck. As many of us see on the Facebook Pages, there are many " 3D Artist " out there trying to peddle 3D models as .STLs. WARNING. Do not fall for these scams. If they only show you 3D rendering & do not post pictures of a Physically Printed Product. Do not buy their files. Most ( Not All ) of our files are physical scans of the real parts. But!... It can take weeks to turn 1 scan or a " Model " into a Printable Object. Most have no depth or thickness, thus end up a blob on your print plate. It takes painstaking work to turn a scan or model into a printable object. That is what we do here. We put in the time, to scan & master those files into printable object. Thus we take great pride in supplying you are product that is not only ascetically nice, but also will not take you hours of post work to make paint-able.

  • Do your parts have 3D printing lines
The answer to this question is both Yes & No. At the 389 Project 3D printing lines are no laughing matter. We take this part of the process very seriously. Yes there are 3D printing line in our product. But we use the finest setting possible. We do NOT sacrifice Quality for time. In Fact we sacrifice Time for Quality. The majority of our parts the lines are so fine, they will require little or no sanding depending on your desires. Some parts will require a very small amount of " Post " work. This means light sanding. But these areas are specifically designed to be in areas that do NOT require you to sand away the fine details. A few parts, such as DEF tanks & the DPF filter have more prevalent lines. these were unavoidable. However the DPF filer is tucked inside the DPF box. so if you wish you can sand it smooth. Further the DEF tanks also have these lines. BUT! The modern day 389 Peterbilt has a cover/single strap ( Not Included ) that covers the front of the DEF tank. This is easily made from a small piece of thin polystyrene, or even something as simple as a Soda Can. ( we will cover this step in The 389 Project Step by Step Video Series on YouTube ) address below. Also our Fuel tanks have smaller lines in them that can be sanded out easily as well. But you will need to take some care in doing so, as to not effect things like the straps ect. Copy & Paste into your Browser https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgwTOAsy-pmY3DrQ2fd8sqw
